Every time you think you've got a handle on it, Medusa throws you a curve ball. (Boy of the Year) is the most inventive, game-changing album I've heard in a long f*cking time.”

Bucket List

Medusa is a nonbinary "revenge pop" artist based in New York. Their signature sound draws from experimental hip-hop, electro-pop, and alt-rock, often incorporating unique elements like cheerleading chants and metal breaks. Boy of the Year, their coming-of-gender LP, sparked a blaze through 2020's underground queer scene. It also drew attention to one of their first songs, Danny Phantom, a dark raptronica confessional about eating disorder recovery. Like their namesake, they've embraced being seen as a monster. Their motivation is simple: remind outcasts of their power...by making dope shit.

Sample Track

So cool it should probably be illegal.”

A breakthrough. A collection of hymns of the LGBTQ+ community and those who are close to music from the borderlines of hyper- pop, trap, dark pop, and even nu-metal.”

Sure to pump some adrenaline into your veins.”
