The Wavy Awards, supported by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, will ratify a new vision for celebrating historically excluded artists. The Wavys is an extension of the vision behind Blonde Records’ Blonde Music News, Bands do BK, Scenes from the Underground, Northerly NYC, Grimalkin Records, and Left Bank Magazine’s collective drive to amplify the voices of historically excluded artists, such as female, non-binary, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and artists with disabilities.

The Wavy Awards are partnering with RAMP'D (Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities) who serve as a resource for disabled recording artists and music professionals and their allies and MIC (the Music Inclusion Coalition) who support BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students pursuing music careers through the transition from high school to college. To ensure accessibility, there will be an ASL interpreter on stage via SignNexus, and the event will be live-streamed to the public on YouTube with live closed captioning.

Grammy-nominated musician and artist, Divinity Roxx, who served as Beyonce’s bassist and Musical Director, will MC the event. A total of twelve performers will take the stage, including award-winning blind artist and diversity inclusion advocate Lachi, queer artist and activist Medusa, and International actor and deaf performing artist Mervin Primeaux O’Bryant. Also performing are Sophie Colette, Nihiloceros, Goldilocks, Alliteration, M the Myth, Celeste Krishna, Bentley Robles, Anna Oxygen, and Scorpio SZN.
